Just reading an article about various approaches to track and monitor your child. GPS enabled cell phones seem to be generally available.I read a couple of stories about kids kept out of trouble because of these devices. Any opinions? JS

That makes sense from the standpoint of trust but verify. You can't keep track of them all of the time, but it would be useful for them to know that you have some means to monitor them at any time.
What really really concerns me is not so much where they go in the real world but where they go in cyberspace. Anything and everything is easily available for viewing. You can control your connection, but if they want it they can always get it at a friend's house or elsewhere.
Ultimately you've got to hope to teach them to focus on the good and avoid the evil.
Agreed. The internet is the hard one to control if they are at someone's home and you can't track activity. The addictive nature of porn is touted as being greater than cocaine. Just talking with your son about this seems dangerous as it might spark a curiosity. This is a tough one to solve without having to solve. This probably comes down to a parent's teachings on sexual purity. If the child can respect his own dignity and that of others then there is hope.
